Puppeteer and singer
Performers who are playful, energetic and interesting.
Performers who are comfortable with puppetry, performing as an actor, singing on their own and interacting with an audience as themselves (not in character).
We have two possible approaches for casting this role. With additional pre-rehearsal support from an experienced puppeteer as well as practical support during the rehearsal period we would welcome applications from emerging performers who may have limited experience in puppetry or performing as an actor. We also welcome applications from experienced puppeteers and performers who may not require this additional support.
Musician, performer and singer
Musicians who are comfortable leading all music elements of the show.
We already have a comprehensive "handover pack" to make it manageable and smooth for the incoming musician. You will also have our past musician, Tommie Black-Roff (who composed the majority of the music and has been in the show for 3 years) with you during the whole rehearsal process. We are ideally looking for an accordion player but we are open to suggestions. Crucially, although we work in a short time frame and after producing the show for nine years already have a very clear understanding of what makes the show magical we want the incoming musician to take ownership of the show and over time they will be able to adapt and develop the show themselves.
There is possibly an option to share the role with Tommie.

We are running an audition workshop on 14th October with the ambition of welcoming new performers to our team.
We want our doors to be open and to always be on the lookout for new people who may not yet be on our radar or who we haven't had a chance to work with.
Our aim through this casting process is to see as many people as we can who we think might be suitable for this project.
For the puppeteer and singer role
The workshop will be facilitated by Emma McGee (she/her) who has performed in the show for two years.
The director, Guy Watson (he/him), will welcome you and be able to answer any practical or creative questions you may have about the project.
The workshop will incorporate a series of exercises and games designed for the director and facilitator to understand how you work with puppets, voice and movement.
For the musician, performer and singer role
The audition process is an informal Zoom call with Tommie, they will be given a piece of music from the show to learn (which will include singing) and we will then invite those we feel are a right fit to the audition workshop with the puppeteer singer auditions.
